PRO12: Richie Vernon fuori nove mesi dopo l’operazione al tendine d’Achille

Screen Shot 2017-03-17 at 11.54.48Richie Vernon, versatile giocatore dei Glasgow Warriors – può giocare, infatti, sia in terza linea, sia al centro – si è sottoposto ad intervento chirurgico per risolvere il problema al tendine d’Achille rimediato nel match di PRO12 contro i NG Dragons.

Per Richie, uno dei giocatori più amati dal pubblico dello Scotstoun, almeno nove mesi di stop.

Ecco il comunicato dei Warriors:

Richie Vernon has undergone surgery for an Achilles tendon injury sustained in the game against the Dragons earlier this month.

The 29-year-old centre is expected to be out of action for up to nine months following the procedure at BMI Ross Hall Hospital.

Glasgow Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend said: “We’re disappointed for Richie that he faces another spell on the sidelines, not long after he’d worked hard to get back to full fitness.

“The surgery was a success and we wish him all the best with his rehab.”
